Heater Core and CV Joint Have Fixed Them Selves
My recent issue with my CV Joint was actually loose lug nuts on one of my front wheels which was surprising but at the same time educating. From now on I will always have to double check and torque down my lug nuts as they seem to have gotten loose over time. And as far as the heater core I’m a bit confused, because the issue seems to have disappeared and no more smell of antifreeze is present in the car anymore and I’ve been driving everyday since the smell became present. I will keep my eye on this issue but so far it seems to be OK.

Turbo Build Put on Hold
As you all may have noticed my posts about my turbo build have stopped and not much new has been posted for a while. The bad news is that the troubled economy has finally hit my wallet and right now I have to concentrate on this before any other major work is done on my engine. I will try to do my best to post some minor things I do to my car or engine but nothing major till get some things straightened out. 1993 Honda Civic Blog is here to stay just might be a bit quiet for a while.

D16Z6 Valve Cleaning Using Parts Washer
Today I had some extra time after work so I went ahead and setup my parts washer and filled it with 2 gallons of solvent. I started washing the exhaust valves first one by one and made sure all the components were accounted for including the valve, valve seat, spring, retainer and keepers. I used a small plastic container for each valve set to make sure everything was properly organized. If you look on the picture below you will see how I organized the parts after cleaning them with solvent. Once I got all the exhaust valve parts clean, I turned off the parts washer and dried everything off. After drying off one valve set at a time I put the parts in their own ziplock bags for storage. I repeated the process for the intake valves and also cleaned the VTEC solenoid.
I used 16 small zip lock bags and named them exhaust 1, exhaust 2, exhaust 3, all the way up to 8 and then the same for intake. With this method I will keep all the parts organized and easier for assembly later on.

2009 Ultimate Buyers Guide is a Must
I bought the 2009 Ultimate Buyers Guide last night and man this thing is a must for any car tuner enthusiast. It’s got everything from from body kits to clutches, steering wheels and turbo chargers. If your looking at buying any after market parts for your Honda Civic this summer then you better pickup a copy as there are lots of products listed that will fit your Civic. If you want a custom racing seat then turn to page 118 and BAAM! you got the picture, pricing, website and phone number of the manufacture so you can get your self setup. The magazine has a parts reference guide starting on page 10 that lets you know whats available for your car whether it being a Honda Civic, BMW or Toyota. So go to your local store and pickup a copy and save yourself the headache and the cash this summer. -
Upcoming Car Shows and Blog Update
There are 2 car shows coming up this year that I am excited to go to again. The first one is the Vancouver International Auto Show which is on March 31 to April 5 and the 2nd one is the DriventoPerform event on May 30th. Once again I will take lots of pictures and post them on the site.
As you may have noticed my posts have been very scarce this month as the winter weather slowed things down on my RC D16 Turbo Build and I’m also trying to save money for the machining of the block but after the holidays my budget is really tight. In the last few months the world financial sector has been very shaky which has made me think about tightening my spending habbits but at the same time I believe anything can be achieved if you put your mind into it. I still want to have a Turbo D16 Honda Civic this summer but will see how things turn out so stay tuned to the site for more updates.
