  • Driven To Perform 2008 In Vancouver Photos #1
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 31, 2008 | No Comments Comments

I drove down to BC place stadium today for the Driven to Perform Tour 2008 and it was definitely worth it. There were lots of great looking cars with loud stereo systems, crazy paint jobs, body kits and exotic makes. Although there were a lot of cars there I only saw two EG 92-95 Civics’ and a few 96-00. I was hoping to see some EG hatch backs but there was none there so I was a bit disappointed.

I got my picture taken with a Newjuc girl and beside a new Ferrari F430, after all I have to show my face sometimes. The RC Drifting competition was really neat to see as most of the cars had multi color neon and LED lighting. There was one really well done out Civic that had a mural of spider man on the hood and lambo doors. Even a pink Honda CRX made an appearance at the show with a full body kit and white wheels. The dance competition was interesting to see as the dancers tore through the dance floor and moved to the music of well choreographed dance routines.

  • New Pliers
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 31, 2008 | No Comments Comments

I went to Canadian Tire this morning and found a great deal on a set of pliers for $14.99. They have large orange handles that make them very comfortable to hold and easy to find. My theory is you can never have enough tools as they sometimes get lost, broken or not returned but a fellow mechanic friend. If your looking for a good set then these are the ones to get. I give them 6 out of 6 for good quality, cheap price and easy to use. Canadian Tire Part #58-4789-4

  • OEM Style Fog Light Installation
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 30, 2008 | No Comments Comments

I was looking thru some posts at D-Series.org and found a great writeup on the installation of OEM style fog lights. You can purchase these on the ebay for around $60 and they make your bumper look a little bit better if your not going to go with a body kit.

I found a place on the internet that sells both the Clear and Yellow  versions of this kit. Here is the Link to the Do it Yourself Installation.

  • Body Kit Update
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 30, 2008 | 3 Comments3 Comments Comments

I found a Honda Civic on Cardomain.com that has the same side skirts that I want to install on my Civic. The owner attached the side skirts to the car and then molded them right to the side of the body so they look like their part of the car not just pieces of plastic that are attached. This is exactly what I intend to do with mine so the car looks like it came like this from factory. The front bumper is slightly different then the Bomber one I want but that’s ok, I like the look of mine better. The other thing about this hatch I like is the hood, it’s carbon fiber and it’s got a nice indentation in the middle, looks very sporty.

Below is the Civic with really nice side skirts and here is the Link to the owners page.

  • Possible Changes To The Body Kit Idea and Paint
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 29, 2008 | No Comments Comments

So I’ve been thinking about the body kit for my 93 Civic and I think I am going to mix and match different pieces to make the kit look better.

I am going to use the Bomber Front Bumper [B-HC92BXF], the CB Style Side Skirts [B-HC92CBS3], and the XN Style Rear Bumper [B-HC92XNR3].

As far as the paint is concerned, I am going to stick with the original red that my Civic came with because it should be easier to buy and paint. Doing this will eliminate the problem with the inner doors and under the hood being a different color so this will fit my car better.

Candy apple red is a really nice color but from what I’ve heard and read online it’s an expensive paint job and tricky to do to make it look good.

  • Upcoming Body Kit Style
By User ImageBart Piotrowski on May 28, 2008 | No Comments Comments

My plan this summer for my 93 Civic is to get a body kit and paint it candy apple red. But before I do that I have to do some body work to get the dents out and fix any rust that might be hidden. The body kit that I am thinking of is available at 2 places, Extreme Dimensions and Rocketz.net. The Bomber 4 piece kit includes front bumper, 2 side skirts and a rear bumper. I am still debating whether or not to get the matching roof spoiler because I want to make the car look good not over done.

I found a Civic on CarDomain.com that has the same body kit already mounted and painted blue. Below is the image and here is the Link to the owners page.
